LOS ANGELES (February 8th, 2019) -- The Gladiators are happy to announce the addition of Matt Edwards as the team’s performance coach.

Edwards has a Master’s in Social Work, a Bachelor's in Psychology, and comes from a background in behavioral psychology, counseling, mental health, and collegiate sports. He has been a performance coach in the North American League of Legends championship series for the past two years.

During his time as performance coach on the team Phoenix1, ADC Arrow was voted MVP and the team took 3rd in the 2017 Spring Split. In the 2017 Summer Split, new jungler MikeYeung finished as Rookie of the Split. Edwards moved on to the newly franchised team 100 Thieves for the 2018 Spring Split, where the team finished 1st, coach Pr0lly was awarded Coach of the Split, and support player Aphromoo won MVP. Under his guidance, the team finished 4th in the 2018 Summer Split.

Edwards’ past experience and success in professional esports bring a competitive edge to the Gladiators’ performance. He will be focusing on optimizing practices and preventing and working with performance issues.
