CHANGING THE GUARD - GLADIATORS LEGION UPDATES

LOS ANGELES (March 2nd, 2019) -- The Gladiators Legion have locked in the roster and acquired new players for Season 1 of the 2019 North American Overwatch Contenders League.

Flex tank Daniel “Gods” Graeser, support Mark “Pookz” Rendon, DPS Connor "Far" Broderick, and assistant coach Simon “Simon” Schumph have left the team.

Replacing Gods is off tank Nathan "frd" Goebel, who finished 3-4th in the Season 3 playoffs of Overwatch Contenders and 1st place in Overwatch Contenders Season 3 Trials as part of Second Wind.

Hailing from Sweden, Ludvig "Luddee" Håkansson comes in as a support player for the Legion. Luddee is joining the ranks after previously playing for Angry Titans in the European Overwatch Contenders League, where they finished 2nd in 2018 Season 3. “[This] makes us at CareerCannon and our academy team Angry Titans very proud. His move to LA is a success of everybody contributing; staff, players, fans and TakeTV, creating an engaging and professional enviroment. We wish Luddee all the best for his career and are thankful for his time at Angry Titans!” says Johannes Sick, CEO of CareerCannon.

Min-sung "Water" Lee is an up and coming DPS from GE Pantheon KR of the Overwatch Contenders Pacific League. A Top 500 player, Water is known for explosive play on Genji, Pharah, and Hanzo. “[He] has been one of the most dedicated esports athletes that we have come across... open to coaching and suggestions, extremely humble and always eager to learn and practice. That hunger is what drove him to always grind the ladder and lead him to have multiple accounts in the top 50 Asia ladder,” says Dr. Rushindra 'Salbatic' Sinha, CEO and founder of Global eSports.

Félix “xQc”Lengyel will be joining the Legion as the substitute main tank. Originally from Québec, xQc is known for his entertaining streams and also brings strong main tank play, particularly on Winston. The new additions will join the existing roster of DPS Dalton “Dalton” Bennyhoff, main tank Byong Ho “Panker” Lee, and flex support Randal “Roolf” Stark. The team was lead by head coach Gannon "RaptorZ" Nelson through Seasons 1-3 in the North American Overwatch Contenders League.

Beginning with Season 1 of the 2019 North American Overwatch Contenders League, RaptorZ has transitioned to the position of head development coach and will be focusing on developing the players. Thomas "Maid" Mok replaces him as the new head coach. Maid began coaching Overwatch in the European and Australian Contenders scene, working with Team Singularity and Kanga Esports.
